The Gameboy was Nintendo's Iphone.

The DS was Nintendo's Iphone

The Switch could be Nintendo's Iphone

As many have pointed out, on purpose or not, is that the Iphone has basically been the same for the last 10 years. That is one thing I like about Nintendo. They take risks.

Thinking of the future, I have no idea what I would like for the next Nintendo console. Basically just an update Switch, imo. Same size, better screen, smaller bezzle, wireless TV/dock connect. Whether that takes the relase of the Switch 2, or even until Switch 4, that is where my thinking is stuck.

But much like phones, it's stuck. Since the iphone, we relaly haven't gotten anythign new. Sure nicer camera's, better screens, finger scanner, ect. Nothing revolutionary like going from a flip phone or nokia phone to the iphone. We see mock videos from samsumg about foldable phones, or phones that roll up to like a pen, or other cool things for phones, but we never see them hit market. We just get the typical upgrade that is faster processor, bigger screen or sharper image, ect.

So while it makes sense for them to continue the Switch line (at present) it leaves me also with a sense of dread.

What use would any of these have on a phone that would compare in any way to the jump from flip phones to smart phones?

Have you not seen those Samsung videos?

The use of a folding screenw oudl be that you could have a tablet sized phone fold in half to be the size of a normal phone to fit in your pocket.

The use of a screen that rolls up woudl be so that you could have it roll into a pen like size and more easily again fit into a pocket or purse or something.

Here is a video from like 2013. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRSGzfz6zwI

Would those concepts not be cool?
