It's the only way to defend yourself from random attacks from the US.

cause the US attacks random nations all the time.  And don't say Iraq people called that stuff out and both Dems and Repubs thought there were WMDs there.  Plus evil dictator and all.

They did it often enough for small countries to not trust them anymore, especially when their political system differs from the US. 

There is no military solution here. If the US strikes first, North Korea will get heavy support from China and Russia, leading to a stalemate just like in the 50s. Millions will lose their lives and nothing will change.
