It is a long-time Sony-assosciated high-profile title whos predeccessors have all sold over 5 million copies and were popular in all regions. It truly is put-up or shut-up time.
I thought previously you decribed MGS4 as covering just a niche gerne?
Personally I still think a slimline PS3 and Final Fantasy XIII will have a much bigger impact.
But I also think MGS4 will sell very well and push many consoles, placing the PS3 well ahead in weekly sales compared to the 360 for the rest of the year, of course taking into account entry pricing (the PS3 still costs $100 more than the 360 when it launched) and install base.
