Thought this deserved its own thread, as one of the biggest surprises of today's Direct.

So much for Switch not being able to handle AAA PS4/Xbone multiplats

It doesn't? They had to rebuild FIFA 18 to make it run properly. NBA 2K18 runs at 30fps instead of 60fps and at a lower resolution. Sonic Forces is 30fps while 60fps on other consoles. DQ Heroes has a lower resolution and even goes below 30fps. DOOM took a big texture downgrade. Wolfenstein will no doubt go from 60 to 30fps. If you downgrade any game hard enough of course Switch will be ''able to handle PS4/Xbone multiplats''. Look at the difference between Modern Warfare on PS3/X360 and on Wii. The downgrades were enormous. Doesn't mean Wii  was able to run PS3/X360 multiplats.

OT: good for Nintendo to finally get some proper 3rd party support (although very less). But the downgrades and higher price don't make it worthwile for me.

Of Course they will downgraded compared to PS4/XB1 versions of game, and some people were saying that Switch can handle at all even downgraded versions of PS4/XB1, which is ridiculous.

The same could be said for pretty much every PS4/Xbone game versus the PC version.

And the gap between Wii and PS3/360 was far bigger than the gap between Switch and PS4/Xbone.

That's what you get for paying more money on a gaming PC: way better performance and that's why PC is considered the superior gaming platform. On TV you get downgraded game compared to XB1/PS4, but you also get for playing in full handheld that PS4 and XB1 ofcourse don't offer.

In TV mode you get downgraded games compared to XB1/PS4, but you also getting option for full handheld play that PS4 and XB1 versions of game of course don't offer, and that's actually game changer for some people.
