The entire "Ys" series is criminally overlooked compared to the more well know RPG franchises, and yet it's also one of the longest running in gaming dating back to the late 80s. This I feel is mainly due to sporadic releases of installments in the series, coupled with the fact that some installments take years to reach Western audiences or never leave Japan.
I'll be picking up Ys VIII on PS4 at some point in the near future, as well as the Steam port of Ys Seven since I never got around to playing the original PSP version.
