Do you consider Apple products anti-consumer as well? If they can charge a premium for what the public perceives as a superior product, why not do it? Offering frequent discounts etc would devalue their product and cheapen their brand. 

 

At the end of the day, they arent selling life sustaining equipment. Video games are a luxury, not a human right. Nintendo can charge what they want, people arent forced to buy at gun point.
