I loathe I-III for many reasons, but re-watching the original trilogy (in tandem with VII) made me question so many of the bizarre scene cuts and dialogue. In hindsight, it was probably my nostalgia that allowed me to gloss over such directorial ineptitude, but it made the inanity of I-III decidedly less surprising (as Lucas shed the directors from IV-VI). You'd have to watch them with me lol.

If you do re-watch them, keep an eye out for scenes that continue on for seemingly no reason or throwaway lines that are effective non-sequiturs. When I watch them as critic and not fan, they do make me cringe. Like I said, it won't affect my fandom, because I can't imagine ever not being a huge SW nerd.
