If 3DS had all those things and was powerful (it was very weak)  then it would have had much higher demand at launch.

You are on the same page as me on one thing though.  That Switch is selling more because it's a handheld + home console. And that's why I always say it's sales should be compared to another gens handheld + console and not just one.

Those past consoles didn't have the hybrid feature to benefit their sales. And if it had stock Switch would be selling even more making those comparisons make even more sense.

You can pretend Switch isn't priced like a portable but in reality it is.  it's priced like a powerful portable not a weak one. You could also argue it's priced like a weak home console which it is.  Because at the end of the day it's a very powerful portable but a weak home console.

I am not so sure if it would have around $100 higher price point, again, 3DS start selling after price cut to $170.

I agree that Switch is selling because hole concept of hybrid, not just because it's handheld side, but that doesn't mean that sales need to be compared to handheld + console sales, Switch is still one device and one platform.

Yes, Switch is real first hybrid console.

I don't pretend anything, but you can keep ignoring facts, fact is that Switch has price point of Nintendo home console, not handheld, thats clear fact. Only 3DS had launch price point of $250 and that was too much for handheld and 3DS didnt sell at that price point, so Nintendo need to have very fast huge price cut in order that 3DS start selling. At end of day, Switch is hybrid and has pretty good price for hybrid device that act like real home console and real handheld with two controllers for multiplayer out of box, but $300 for only handheld device would be too much in any case and despite power, and such a device wouldn't sell nearly as Switch is selling currently or would be nearly popular like it is.

You keep ignoring a key point.  If 3DS was a very powerful handheld and not a weak handheld it could have sold much better at launch.  And if they never had a Wii U and all its games went to the more powerful 3DS instead it would sell much better.  if it had a home console mode like the Switch,  again it would sell better.

Switch is one device but it's actually 2 platforms.  portable + home.  It's replacing the Wii U and 3DS so of course it should be compared to both. It will get both platforms games. Only comparing to one is not a fair comparison.

And for your last point,  fact is Switch ain't just a handheld or a home console.  It doesn't need to be priced as either.  It's priced as a hybrid and for consumers today it's price is very fair and not expensive.
