I don't really care so I never put it back down. It's just a debate over one sex wanting the toilet ready to go while the other sex has to lift the seat then put it back down versus just adjusting the seat to how you want it, go to bathroom then leave as is. If women gripe about it too much, I'll put the cover down too to make them do something so it's equal.
