I read up on that and that infuriated me. The officer wanted to extract a comatose patient's blood when that is against the hospital's policy and his reasoning for wanting to collect the patient's blood was extremely shoddy. Cops need to go through more training so that these kinds of incidents can be minimized. |
My problem with that is that the cop new he was in the wrong. When another officer asked him why he would not get a court order he clearly stated he did not have proable cause. In other words he was using his authority to bullie the situation instead of standing behind the law. That is like this video where the cop said he was going to search the guys car, and the guy said no you will not. Just like a home, cops need proable cause and a court order to do that or your permission.
I have a lot of cop firends and I know how very hard it is to do their job, my only real beaf is when they try to protect the bad cops. Every cop does not need protection by their peers and if someone is doing something shady they have to weed them out.
