I'm not sure what you expect Nintendo to do... There's almost zero chance either of their partners would actually be willing to sell their portion of the Pokemon Company, which is about as reliable a source of income as any in the industry.

Meanwhile, it would cost a lot to buyout the others, and if they did buy off Game Freak (for instance) it'd then be on them to fully fund all future game development.

As things currently stand, Nintendo makes a ton of money from Pokemon directly, its platforms benefit enormously from Pokemon's exclusive presence on them, and they don't have to make the games themselves (though obviously they often provide plenty of assistance, be it financial or technical). I just don't see any reason they'd look to rock the gravy boat... they have the best situation of the three and Game Freak assumes most of the risk.

He wasn't talking about Nintendo: He was whining about Game Freak only releasing games on Nintendo consoles.

Oh I see... well, as I pointed out earlier, it's not actually up to them; even if they wanted to head to the PS4 or something Nintendo, the owner of all relevant trademarks, would never allow it.
