It is not entirely true. In the beginning, Sony has a good support on vita, but the memory card proprietary, most game designers toward consoles features and not portable gaming and all the market gain for the PSP with all the multimedia features was lost to smartphones, so the sony notebook market has drastically reduced by several factors. While the shrinking of the Nintendo market was due more to the 3D factor that reduced the consumer range of the console, which guided much of the development of the games. Already the Nintendo tried to fix with the release of the 2ds versions, but was too late. The competition in the mobile market had its effect on both, but the main factors came from the mistakes of the companies themselves. And the use of the Sony consoles as a multimedia center was completely lost with the development of smartphones, that is little said, which I find strange. I remember before that many people used their PSP as a multimedia center.
