Ah, it must have been that. I guess that shows you how much I know about Ys Though I really want to get Books I&II for the TurboGrafx-CD.

There's great remakes of those games available on PSP/Vita and PC. 

But honestly, you can skip them. Starting with Origins and Ys: Oath in Felghana is my best advice for you.
