people started following the game in 2009. I got two examples right here. There was definitely hype. Did it go under the radar for some sure, but that doesn't mean there wasn't an extreme amount of hype from people who kept track and noticed the game was being brought to EU and other areas and not the states. 

*edit* Now, was it introduced to the masses after the trailer (or far more heavily known after rainfall) sure, but saying there is no hype, then BAM there was is not accurate.

Wow man, seriously.  There were other trailers after the first.  The game was praised and acclaimed upon release in Japan.  New trailers and gameplay videos showed up in the lead to the EU release.  Is it so hard to grasp that the first trailer had zero impact and then subsequent events built it up?  This has happened with many games.

And have you even LOOKED at the debut trailer?  It's profoundly...underwhelming.
