One of the reasons I like Splatoon is it does a great deal to differentiate itself from a large number of other shooters aesthetically speaking. I find the game to be very charming and uplifting when most shooters go for a more gritty look and feel.
I mean squids running around shooting ink! Such a charming idea! The squids are adorable too! Especially when they say 'thank you' in their squid voice. My frozen, cynical heart just melts.
