If you think about Switch already has some things that could work for VR, like Joy Con controllers, and I am pretty sure Nintendo has some interesting VR/AR patents (like we already saw). Also Nintendo could later easily release Switch with 1080p screen that would be more subtle for VR, similar like phones are using.

Would it really be in Nintendo's spirit to release another version of the Switch just for VR, completely shutting out everyone who bought the old version?
