If MS fixes their lack of exclusives they would be in a really nice position

Microsoft can "fix" their amount of exclusive games. They're not going to be fixing their Japan problem and the de facto standard Japanese PS games any time soon.

I didn't think that part of your comment seemed relevant. Sony doesn't need to moneyhat to get most Japanese centric games to be exclusive to their system. It's rather that Japanese devs/publishers often don't think it's worth the investment to port games to a system that no one in Japan owns, and for the titles that do get ported over to the west, sales usually leave much to be desired on Xbox One.

But yeah, I'm not expecting them to be able to do much about that any time soon.

Yep. Xbox needs to penetrate Japan again if they want japanese titles. Moneyhatting isn't the major issue in japan.
