3X power difference is nothing and it's not a generation difference if the price is 400+ and the Pro is 200.  The Pro will be the mass market device and the PS5 will be the premium.  The only thing that will change this is if Sony make it so the PS5 has its own exclusive games and they look way better than what can be played on the Pro.

Sony making PS5 a new gen it's quite obvious that it will have its own exclusives even if it have backward compatibility.

And there is very little reason for sony to launch the console at over 400 USD. Also I don't think Pro will be 200 USD by 2020.

Sony has made no statements if their next system will be backward compatible.  For one thing they have the PSNow service which could be their means to supply anyone who wants backwards compatible games especially since they started adding PS4 games to the service.  As for Sony charging more than 400 for the PS5, who knows.  Killing it this gen could easily cause Sony to believe they control the market again and whatever price they charge customers will snap it up.

As for the Pro being 200 bones by 2020, that will be up to Sony but it should be the base system when PS5 shows up.  I do not see the Pro being any more than 250 and holiday sales probably would drop 50 off and include a pack in game.

Either way MS strategy is pretty clear cut, Sony is not.  The PS5 having exclusive games with it only have 3X power over the Pro may or may not be a good strategy.  It really will depend on how much better the games actually appear compared to what can be accomplished with the Pro.  That may only translate to a 30fps game going 60fps with the same IQ.
