Have you played Halo 5 and Gears 4? Because single player parts in those games seemed to be there just for the sake of it. It didn't look to me like they've really put too much effort in it. And if you look at multiplayer parts you can see the difference on which one they worked more.

I disagree.

Halo 5 didn't have an amazing campaign, could have benefitted by being longer, but the gameplay is great and it had good story telling. A well above average FPS that just left many wanting more.

Gears 4 was another Gears game, it was a top notch cover shooter and easy to recommend for those that want a split screen game.

A big reason I like those games as well is the gameplay actually fun versus being heavily narrative driven. I will replay Halo 5 and Gears 4 campaigns, but I rarely replay heavy story games.

Yes, but this is all subjective. In my opinion Halo 5 had a great shooting mechanics and enemy AI but that's all. The story was so bad that I've barely managed to make myself finish it. I've dropped it several times and went back to it again. And you know, I'm not the one who thinks as well. You can ask a lot of people and I'm almost 100% sure that the majority will say that Halo 5 single player campaign story was bad. Again, because 343i focused on multiplayer way too much. They definitely made a great job here but I wish they've put more effort into single player.

Gears 4 seemed to me way too repetitive I've dropped it after completing act 3. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea. I've not played the first three as well. So this was my first Gears game. The story also wasn't really interesting here as well. Can't really say about it but I think that this game was built multiplayer first as well. Because of how many news and updates were multiplayer-related.
