I thought you were talking about the quality writing being over, because that episode proved it in spades. It's obvious that without GRRM source material, the show runners just can't write a decent story. The "rescue" scene was, quite possibily, the most stupid thing I have ever seen filmed. Yeah, let's not tell Dany to flame the Night King, no, instead, let's pay NO ATTENTION TO HIM AS HE SAUNTERS OVER, SLOWLY GRABS A SPEAR, SAUNTERS SOME MORE, THEN LAZILY THROWS IT AT THE DRAGON. And then there is the Arya v Sansa BS they have going on....SMH.
