I enjoyed it, thought it was really good. Not great, but good. Some of the fights were a mess though, especially that one in the parking garage place. Like what the fuck happened there?

Sigourney Weaver's character felt completely wasted. Like it felt like they made a big deal out of her being in the show but her character hardly even did anything and wasn't even much different from any of the other villains in the past.

I will say though the lack of real connections between the TV shows and films is really starting to become more noticably dumber and nonsensical. Stick tells them that only they 4 can save New York City. How the fuck is it that in this world, since it takes place in the MCU, not a single one of them even thinks to mention The Avengers or Spider-Man? It's dumb and makes no sense at all. Just like how New York, the place where all the Avengers, Spider-man, Doctor Strange, etc are shakes super violently in the first episode but apparently none of them cared to check it out what was causing it. Not like they live there or anything.

Well let's be honest. The media reported it as a regular Earthquake and Stark would have taken the bait, Peter would be going to school, Dr Strange hasn't happened yet in the timeline, Captain America probably isn't in America. Not many of the Avengers are in NYC currently as far as we know and Ant-Man lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. crew is closer to Washington D.C. The information that was fed to the public was controlled by The Hand. This is made a huge plot point by Trish and is clearly depicted to the audience.

Also Stick might not know much about the Avengers, and frankly he doesn't give two and a half shits about them. He trained his whole life for this with the Chaste, who NONE of those characters where made aware of. Daredevil and Electra were trained by him. This is what Stick believes and he makes that clear multiple times like when he mentions how he was raised to know "how the world really runs". Iron Fist is relevant because he is the weapon to be used against the hand and the key to so much more. Jessica and Luke become entwined with these characters and their fight against the hand. They just happened to involved in things that connected their paths to the Hand.

It would really make no sense for Iron-Man or Spider-Man to get involved unless there was something to get them involved. Since Spider-Man and Daredevil haven't crossed paths yet there was no reason for Matt to ring up Spider-Man and say "Hey bro, I need your help with something" which in turn would have the MCU's Spider-Man call up Iron-man and say "Dada help plz" or what ever stupid thing this version of Spider-Man would say to Stark that will trigger me off the rails.

The other characters really don't make since timeline wise. The Defenders takes place in 2016 shortly after Civil War. Basically around the time of Ghost Rider's emergence and his struggles and Spider-Man is busy with The Vulture. At this time Dr. Strange is in a hospital bed from his accident. Many people don't actually realize that the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Doctor Strange are both in September 2016. Though Doctor Strange's movie takes place over the course of 2-3 months.

Has it ever been actually confirmed when the Netflix TV shows take place though? Like is it real time like the films or is it set in between events of a certain few of the films?

And yeah the media did report it as an earthquake but even in just the second episode there were plenty of people talking about how it couldn't have been an earthquake and such and how after "the incident" (the first avengers movie) people were scared, so a lot of people were suspicious of it. I know the Avengers deal with global threats and not street level ones and such but it still just seems a bit off how none of them would bother to check that out just in case considering how literally all of them live in New York and would have felt it as well. (Unless it happened during like Civil War or something to where they wouldn't be in New York).

Maybe Stick wouldn't care at all about The Avengers enough to mention them, but i'm talking overall though. Like how is it in this world, where they all obviously know about The Avengers, Spider-Man, etc, the thought of it didn't cross any one of their minds? Stick says "only the 4 of you can save New York". And then one of them like Daredevil could have just responded "What about the Avengers? Or that Spider-Man guy? Can't we try and get help for this?". And then Stick or someone responds like "The Avengers only deal with global threats, and if you would have a way to contact Spider-Man i'm all ears" or "this isn't their fight". Like they all live in the same world, the world where The Avengers are worldwide know, and in New York obviously everyone knows about Spider-Man, but it didn't cross ANY of their minds to even mention it? It just seems so unrealistic, considering how they mention 'the incident' a lot as well in the shows.

That would make sense as to why they wouldn't have been involved. It would have literally taken one line, less than a minute to even say, and that could have pleased a lot of fans, because a lot of people have been complaining about how disconnected the shows feel from the overall MCU, with some even doubting they even are in the MCU at this point due to it. But they couldn't even do that. It just sucks because a lot of people want the Netflix characters to eventually finally crossover into the films but it just feels like someone over there just doesn't care enough to do it if they can't even put in a line every now and then.
