| Soundwave said: I think there's a lot of resentment against "feminism" from guys who have no shot at getting close to real vagina any time soon, sorry but there's been plenty of shit reboots lately, why such focus on this one? Robocop sucked ass too, so did the new Total Recall, are people still whining about those? The cast was not the problem with this movie, the script was. The movie would've been poor with Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd or Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt or whoever the fuck "new actors" you think would've been so great because the script sucked, not because there wasn't enough dick in the film. Actually I thought the four actresses did well with what they were given to work with (which wasn't a great deal). The film wasn't bad because of the female cast, it was bad because of the script. Making a new Ghostbusters was never going to be easy, if it was Ghostbusters 2 wouldn't have sucked ass itself in the first place and that was made with all the same people. Just because you liked something at age 8 and was made in the 80s doesn't magically mean it's some freaking sacred cow. Newsflash: 90% of those 80s cartoons are pure shit if you seriously go back and watch them now. Wonder Woman sure as fuck proved this summer that there is a market for female driven action adventure movies, you just need a decent script. So I don't think the approach was even purely wrong. Hiring Paul Feig (the writer/director) was the problem. Wonder Woman is going to outgross Guardians 2, Spider-Man, etc. |
I think men defending modern feminism are men who are the furthest away from a vagina. The 2016 Ghostbusters movie and its marketing was made to antagonise and silence anyone who had any issue with the movie. Didn't like the idea - you're a mysogynist and a virgin. You're essentially perpetrating the same rhetoric as the studio. Thankfully, the market spoke for itself. Maybe that taught those virtue-signalling studios something but they are too tone-dead to grasp it.
Wonder Woman showed that you don't need to perpetrate the "women are better than men" story to find success with women.
