Pikmin 1 and 2. They don't try to be overly complicated, it's just the story of Olimar (and Louie in 2) trying to put food on the table for his family, and to get back to them at the end of the day. 2 fleshes out Olimar's character massively as well, his letters from home at the end of each day, as well as his notations on all of the treasures/monsters allow you a really deep insight into who he is as a person. Out of all of Nintendo's characters, he is the most relatable and the most human. Consequently, I felt a lot more invested in the story and getting him back home, to support his family.

Do you think the caves in Pikmin 2 were a bit frustrating? A lot of my friends feel 1 was better than 2 and were not happy with some of the additions.
