Well considering what is inside of the X1X compared to the Pro, it is a monster.  Weather that means anything is up to the customer.  The basic premise is still the same for both consoles no matter what people want it to be.  The Pro and X1X are mid gen consoles designed to give an extra buff to current games and provide scaling to 4K TVs.  Neither were designed to be these systems that will propell customers to purchase them in volumn.

As for preorders for the system, MS stated they will reveal at gamerscon.  You will have that time to see if your prediction is true.  Since the system seems done, I see no reason why they would delay it.  It was never going to light up MS sales so there is nothing for it to delay for.

So by your logic PS4 was a monster too...it's power advantage was around 40% as well, with better RAM and faster bandwidth.. just like now with X1X..the biggest difference being the 3 extra Gigs of RAM. On the other hand PS4 Pro has AMD Vega features the X1X GPU lacks.

I'm not expecting them to delay it, it would be suicide. They just can't afford it. After faux "true 4K", delayed power of "The Cloud" and lack of games this year, the brand's general perception is already at an alltime low. That said I believe everything can happen. We'll know soon. Gamescom is next week...still debating if I should go.

Compared to the X1 yes, it was defintely the best system at the time in all areas besides online.  Its one of the reasons I bought the PS4 over the X1 during release.

From what I have seen as far as GPU features are concerned  memory Trumps features all day.  When it comes to speed of the system it matters not if a system has more features if those features are not use or do not provide any tangible advantage to IQ.  What I have seen is that speed of memory gives a definite tangible advantage to the whole system and especially hungry GPUs.  I have a PS4 Pro and I am not unhappy with it but you can definitely tell Sony only did the minimum to produce a stronger console.  MS on the other hand increased everything which will see a mark improvement in the entire system.  From loading times to CPU and GPU output to memory optimizations you name it.  The X1X  will definitely be a beast over the PS4 Pro probably even more than the PS4 is over the X1.

As far as that having any real meaning  this far in this gen probably will not matter much at all.
