Well considering what is inside of the X1X compared to the Pro, it is a monster.  Weather that means anything is up to the customer.  The basic premise is still the same for both consoles no matter what people want it to be.  The Pro and X1X are mid gen consoles designed to give an extra buff to current games and provide scaling to 4K TVs.  Neither were designed to be these systems that will propell customers to purchase them in volumn.

As for preorders for the system, MS stated they will reveal at gamerscon.  You will have that time to see if your prediction is true.  Since the system seems done, I see no reason why they would delay it.  It was never going to light up MS sales so there is nothing for it to delay for.

So by your logic PS4 was a monster too...it's power advantage was around 40% as well, with better RAM and faster bandwidth.. just like now with X1X..the biggest difference being the 3 extra Gigs of RAM. On the other hand PS4 Pro has AMD Vega features the X1X GPU lacks.

I'm not expecting them to delay it, it would be suicide. They just can't afford it. After faux "true 4K", delayed power of "The Cloud" and lack of games this year, the brand's general perception is already at an alltime low. That said I believe everything can happen. We'll know soon. Gamescom is next week...still debating if I should go.

To be fair, ~0.4 TF is significantly less potential than the additional 2 TF X1X has over PS4 Pro. X1X also has 4 GB (not 3 GB) additional RAM for games and a faster/custom CPU that supposedly can do more with less overhead. This will all help significantly if X1X becomes a cheap 9th gen machine in the future.

While PS4 has faster RAM than X1, I never got the impression it helped much in practice. Its likely PS4 gets better performance primarily from the superior GPU and its generally the lead platform (hence, better optimization).
