Well, using numbers, the 3DS is at 1.56 million and the PS4 is at 1.24 without digital.

That means the PS4 needs 320,000 digital sales to 3DS 0 digital sales to just catch up.

Anyone know what typical digital/physical ratio is? Or not even tpyical, how about very good even. If PS4 is at 1.24, to just catch the 3DS at 1.56 it needs to have a 80:20 ratio, meaning 80% physical and 20% digital. Imo that seems high, but I don't pay attention to dig/phys ratio so maybe its par for the course.

But again, that is ONLY to catch teh 3DS if we consider the 3DS has ZERO digital sales.  If say the 3DS only has a 90:10 ratio, that would mean the PS4 would need nearly a 70:30 ratio to match the sales.

The point of all this: It's highly unlikely the PS4 has sold more than the 3DS version with digital included. Thus the "STRONGER SALES" is PR talk/twist to mean something other than actual sales #'s 1:1

20-30% seems to be the typical digital percentage. More towards the top end of that even. That`s worldwide of course (and lifetime sales, while I personally expect digital to have better legs than physical so initial %s would be lower), and Japan supposedly has lower digital sales than the west. 3DS (and Nintendo in general) are also known for lower digital sales too.

30% digital for PS4 and 10% digital for 3DS would certainly put PS4 ahead though. Would put PS4 version at 1,774,657 while the 3DS version would be 1,748,017.

25% for PS4 and 5% for 3DS would also put PS4 ahead. PS4 version would be 1,656,346 while 3DS would be 1,656,016.

So it`s certainly a possibility, although not exactly a strong possibility. More likely that they were referring to it as stronger in terms of revenue rather than unit sales.

Yes, but those are huge gaps. I mean saying basically 5% vs 25% or 10% vs 30% digital. I doubt the disparity is that huge between the two.

But I woudl say their "STRONGER" ccomment is in reference to expectations. The PS4 version is performing stronger than they expected, while the 3DS version is performing weaker than expected.

Regardless of who is beater who though, is the fact that at the moment they are talking about meeting their low end projections. So all in all, DQ11 is underperforming.
