A few years ago people in the Gaf MC thread used to say how the 3DS would crush the PS4 version becuz it's yuuuge install base would still be as active as it was back then. "bbbuu bbuuut, people dont throw away their old handhelds!"

Means SE expected more of the 3DS version, despite it (maybe?) selling more than PS4. The PS4 version sold more than they expected.

Those are tied together. PS4 version is ahead in terms of revenue because it is priced 3,000 yen higher + the fact that digital is much stronger on PS4. Even if the PS4 didn't up outselling the 3DS version in unit sales, it brought in more money.
