But no, its sold more copies of the game on the PS4 than 3DS in japan.

"We have seen stronger sales of the PlayStation 4 version than the Nintendo 3DS version, but given the installed base, we have high hopes for growth in sales of the Nintendo 3DS version going forward as well"

 

This the same thing I wrote above, it does not say PS4 outsell the 3DS, it just says for their installed base they expected 3DS to sell more because there are over 20 million 3ds hardware sold, compare to ps4 having 5 million hardware sold, so the ratio of people who own it for ps4 is higher than 3DS, but it do not mean it sold more than the 3DS. Square is hoping they can sell 5 million software to the 20 million 3DS owners, but those owners already left, or sold their hardware to get a Switch, most I see it selling on 3DS is around Monster Hunter XX for 3ds numbers
