Ive had a few ideas since Splatoon 1
-Local Co-op
The original game had an awful local co-op mode and Splatoon 2 only has a local wireless mode. But I think with the Switch has great potential for a local co-op Splatoon mode with split screen. Maybe not 4 players, but 2 players should be no problem.
-Octo Canyon
I have no idea why they decided to split the single player hub world into 5 different areas, but it just feels confined and clunky. Splatoon 1 had a nice open area that was all loaded at once so you could freely move between the hub. I would prefer to have that again.
-Free Mode/Practice Mode
think of it like private battles but with no time limit or knockouts. you could just mess around on whatever stage you want for however long you want. It would be a nice touch and not too hard to add into the game. It would also make out-of-bounds glitches a lot easier for players to find and experiment with.
-Salmon Run
only being open at certain times of day is something I can deal with, but weapon rentals is not. Being forced to use specific weapons during Salmon runs makes the new game mode unnecessarily frustrating. some days I pass on it entirely becuase the weapon choices pretty much all suck. Just let us use the weapons we already have.
-Arcade
Splatoon 1 had minigames that played when waiting in the lobby. I would love it if these came back and even improved. Fun fact: there was actually a scrapped concept for an 8-bit sidescrolling platformer arcade game that you can see a glimpse of in an early Splatoon trailer. that would be awesome to have as an extra game mode
