It sold much more than one million, and it was a game that was reusing assets from Super Mario World, which was a game that already had the whole concept of Captain Toad locked down....

1.32 million or something. I suppose that's "decent" for the Wii U, but honestly, Treasure Tracker was pretty forgettable. It's not until this thread that I was reminded of that game's existence. It doesn't seem to be a requested game by any means that will help push system sales. No need for everything to have a sequel tbh. Nintendo should prioritize original titles like ARMS and Splatoon. ARMS did very well for a full-priced fighting game.

I havent played the game yet and I plan to play it sometime by the end of february. But if I remember correctly, Nintendo once said that, for its big budget games, usually 2 million units was enough to pull in significant profits.Treasure Tracker is obviosly a very low budget game, seeing that it reuses many assets from Super Mario 3D World and the game concept was already in that game. This is a game that selling 300 K would probably be considered a sucess, especially since Treasure Tracker had the feeling to be more of a experimental game and a fun side project for Nintendo.

Now, wether it was forgetable or not, I cant say since I never played. But if the game is as good as the few stages that were in Super Mario 3D World, and if its as good as people say, it would be a nice addition to the Switch. And a game that could be made in less than 2 years, and by a very small team.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
