Yes, if you want to program games for a living you should get a degree in Computer Science. A plus to this is if you can't find a suitable gaming job you can program software and many other things.

  Great, I decided to go into computer science for the above reasons (without gaming) and didn't know how deep the rabbit hole goes. Its good that I can mix my profession with 1 of my passions.
