I remember having a massive discussion with someone at the time (dont think they are any longer on the site) who was arguing for prototype (think they just hated sony) and how they thought it would sell better than infamous.

I think its a shame Prototpye isnt any longer supported (bit like Dead Space), I think done right it could do very well and open world super hero/villian type games could be awesome.

These games are the pure defintion of guilty pleasures. The stories are bland and forgettable, the graphics are garbage, there is no memorable music, the games are way too easy, and the main gameplay mechanics feel sort of weightless. But what they excel at is pure fun. It is so much fun to glide around in Prototype 2 and basically be an OP god compared to the NPCs. If this project was given to a development team like Volition, some of the problems could be ironed out. At this point though, I'm pretty sure Prototype has experienced the same fate as the Red Faction series.

The good news is that the Red Faction series might be making a comeback their IP was purchased... so fingers crossed.
