Ghostbusters 2 already "marred" the franchise, I was only a young kid when that came out but even I knew it was mediocre. I remember kids deeming it "lame" and wanting to see Batman '89 instead. This has been a dead IP since then because Bill Murray hated the franchise aspect of the idea that he didn't want to do another one. The first Ghostbusters is fun and witty, but can we give it a rest with the "masterpiece" stuff, lol. Its not freaking The Godfather or something. The Force Awakens is not that bad either, sheesh. |
Ghostbusters 2 was relatively harmless compared to Ghostbusters 2016, and it didn't fully kill the franchise ... I remember the TV show and, eventually, the Ghostbusters video game did alright. I don't, however, see how anyone could seriously pitch a new Ghostbusters movie ever again after Ghostbusters 2016 ... maybe in another 30 years I guess.
I'm not saying first Ghostbusters is greatest comedy every made, but I think we can all agree it probably deserves a spot in the top 20 or something.
Sorry, but Force Awakens was garbage, and I can't think of anything positive to say about it. It does kind of make the prequels look better by comparison though, I guess that is a good thing?
