Only partly....there is a much bigger market overlap these days. Me and at least 4 of my friends who mostly game on PC also own a PS4 since it has been the best combination for decades already as PS constanty delivers great exclusive content. We all have our PCs connected to our TVs these days so the couch player argument is moot. With MS's decision to bring all MS exclusive games to PC there is absolutely no reason for us to ever buy another console, except for not wanting to use the Windows store, which actually keeps most of us from buying those games anyway sadly. That said, the only interesting and really great game is Horizon anyway, at least in my opinion.
I can definitely understand everyone that, given the high price tag of the X1X, decides to go for a, let's say 700,- to 900,- PC instead and gain all the benefits of a a gaming PC for just 200-400 more, including VR capabilities and modability.
The lack of appealing (exclusive) games atm and in the near future is, next to the price, the biggest enemy of MS right now.
