Pssst. Most of the third parties are developing those higher fidelity assets for the PC version of their games...

And? If anyone really cares about performance they'll be on PC, as has been the case for the past decade. This doesn't change that Pro/X will look essentially identical.

Absolutely!

I play on both PS4Pro and a pretty nice gaming PC comparable to the X1X and the differences are virtually indistinguishable at times. Most PC gamers, just like console players, don't even own a 4K capable display yet so only very few developers will even develop real 4K assets for some more years to come.

Like you already said...the X1Xs on the market won't cross the 2 million mark for quite some time - the PC 4K gaming market is even smaller still - so why should any developer invest huge amounts of time in creating extra assets for those tiny numbers compared to close to 100 million HD players?!

It won't be before next gen that most developers will even go that extra mile.

Most games on X1X will have slightly improved textures and effects and a higher (checkerboard) resolution but they won't look drastically different at all. Most devs will also go for parity anyway.
