I agree with many commenters here, in that the two companies are too culturally different for a partnership to work. But, there have been a few times over the past decade or so that it looked like Nintendo was headed for trouble. If they ever actually get to a point where they're liquidating assets, MS would certainly make sense as a buyer of much of their IP. So, it wouldn't surprised me if MS someday owned Mario and Zelda.
