i think that the world economy is in a very bad shape for a UD$400 and up console without a price drop the wii will maintain is dominance, by the way i don't understand why people think that if someone does not buy a hd console is because that person is cheap, well there is something called budget constrained, that is what most people are, we are budget constrained. i want ps3 but i can only get one for $US1000.00 and that is absurd.

Everyone i know wants a hd console but that has become unrealistic so the wii has become a consolation price, and since little kids like it too that is a plus.

Also cant buy more than one console and buying one for just one game is bearable, but the wii is at a price where i can buy it just for wii sports and is ok, but hd consoles are another story

Try to keep up: the 360 is cheaper than the Wii in many parts of the world as well as offering the Arcade version in the US which is about the same price.

If someone *wants* to afford a console, they will.  If you "can't afford" it, that typically means you choose not to afford it because you have better things to spend your money on.  After all, people are still buying new cars and HDTVs.

The Wii is not a consolation price.  It's the best console.  This is why it's selling much faster than the PS2 ever did, despite having the Xbox 360 at approximately the same price point.  My 360 gets a small fraction of the play time my Wii gets.
