Uh, that was a very major topic of discussion for years alongside homosexuals in the military.
Also, completely separate issue that you brought up, but Obama was the first President to support same sex marriage. I am not sure how you are getting so mixed up, it's not like you could have missed it: it was widespread international headline news.
