I bought it from the eshop! I'm in America, but just sayin. I'm sure, especially in Japan where there would be long lines to get it, i'm guessing it probably had solid eshop sales.

And Splatoon 2 is like, what, 3.3 GB? So it shouldn't be too much of an issue filling in a space as a download. These aren't 20-30 GB games that have trouble compressing that we're talking about.
