The X1X's GPU may actually be comparable to the last gen leap. RAM and CPU are not.

And GPUs aren't the only things that matter. The GPU boost is going entirely to higher resolutions/framerates.

Good, any claims of pleading I can ignore.

You do know what the special pleading fallacy is, right? And that you're guilty of it?

Yep, 7th gen broke some historical trends and remained relevant longer. Its almost like things are changing.

Molehill mountaineering. Yes, last gen was longer, but that's not a portent of some massive paradigm shift looming in the near future.

If developers want to put 9th gen content on X1X, that extra power youre downplaying will be useful. Its funny how much youre understating.

I'm understating nothing. The X1X will in just a few years run into the reality that is the PS5. As with the last several generations, current-gen systems (including the X1X) will continue getting some support for a year or two before every third-party moves on to Gen 9 hardware. We're dealing with simple facts of the matter of the console market.

Anyhow, you seem to be a bored contrarian, I'm done talking.

You've failed to make a case for your claims. You've failed to provide any data justifying the viability of some new paradigm. You've blatantly ignored historical data and tried to exempt things from the discussion because you don't like what the data implies. There's nothing "contrarian" about challenging claims that the XBO can match the 360, or that continued incremental upgrades to existing platforms will replace standard generational leaps for the Xbox brand, or any other claim you've made. Honestly, it's like talking to a brick wall at this point. If you can't even accept basic known knowns about sales data and how the console market works, this discussion is fruitless. Until you can accept those basic facts, we're done here.

GPU power and RAM can also be used for improved graphics or to better handle technically advanced titles. I'm sure X1X will have great looking 1080p/30 fps titles as well. Hence, those improved specs can help X1X run 9th gen content well.

I will ignore the rest of your comment. Its too fruitless.
