I think what he want to say is install base doesn't matter for this type of game. It does matter for the game that attract a lot of audience such as Splatoon or Mario Kart. For this type of game the people that want it will look for this game already. It doesn't matter how huge the install base is because most people don't care for it anyway. Think of it like Fire Emblem series pre-Awakening games. It sold more on GBA than the DS, even when the latter has a significatly larger user base.

That was really never my claim either. It was just one of the things that could potentially lower the sales of the game. It was never the key part of my post though so I'm not even sure why it became a discussion topic. Obviously all the other things I wrote was a lot bigger factor than it's install base.
