OK, the Switch has been selling on Amazon at up to $420. Wow! I can't believe ppl are willing to pay that much for relatively weak technology! But they are in droves. It's been giving PS4 serious competition despite a higher price and low availability.
Here is my theory:
Xbox One X could turn things around for Xbox. If ppl are willing to pay over $400 for the low power switch, $500 for the most powerful console ever seems like a no brainer. The only problem is that Xbox has almost no true exclusive games coming. Phil Spencer has made a mess out of Xbox. Only one major exclusive first party game this whole year!

^ People are willing to pay 400$ for a new system with a new library of games, and great lineup of really strong 1st party exclusives.
The problem is : Xbox One X, plays the same games your old Xbox One does. Xbox doesnt have a strong lineup of 1st party to look forwards too.
Xbox One X isnt going to turn things around for xbox.
Its not about value, so at 6 Tflops for 500$, your getting decent value in terms of (power/$), but without the games it just doesnt matter.

I addressed a lot of what you are saying in my post. Please read all/reread my post.
