I don't know about Krita, but compared to GIMP Paint is easier to use. The reason I still stick with Paint for years is because its simplicity.

Paint.Net is easier to use then Gimp and it provides the ability to do Mask which is very important in more advance image work.  If you get a chance take a look at paint.net.
