That wasn't really one of my points since Crash obviously launched before tuesday, so it wouldn't have mattered anyways, but my bad. I guess my correction was wrong. I don't get why the releases would work that way. 

It actually makes a lot more sense. Games releasing on a friday mean people have the whole weekend to play them. I wouldn't be at all surprised if sick days from work/school were much more common around game releases in the US since it's in the beginning of the week, while us Brits don't need to skip work/school since we know that when we get home friday we'll have a full weekend to enjoy our new game.

no no no, I'm not saying it doesn't make sense to release on a friday, i'm saying why aren't the common release dates the same. I'd prefer Friday release dates here in the U.S. too
