I think the "$500" price will sink it more than anything else against a $249 S, $249 PS4 slim and $299 Switch. Why would anyone pay $500 for a console that plays the same games at barely noticeable differences? I personally don't see it. It'll do nicely it's first month on shelves but after that not much else.

^see

PS4 pro sells substantially less than base PS4. The same will be just as true for the X. It appeals to the enthusiasts market only who have the disposable income to afford it. Everyone else will continue buying the base models for half the price.

Want more proof? Phil Spencer already said months back that the vast majority of units they sell will be the S even with the X on shelves. You're lying to yourself if you think the X will make any kind of substantial difference in sales related to the XB1 family.

Its not negativity, it's just the reality of the current market.

But this is getting off topic so I'll end it here.
