For all the side criticisms, for me it really comes down to how boring this looks. Nothing gets me excited, the characters, story, premise, nothing. Star Trek is science fiction rooted in ideas, this looks to be empty spectacle to appease people who don't like or get the show.
Give me something with a fraction of the budget focused on story and base it after the events we've seen. Give me new aliens, new challenges for Starfleet. Bringing back Klingons felt old news even when i was a kid watching Next Generation. Now it just comes across as lazy and done by people with casual understanding of just the original series.
I don't know if I'll ever watch this, and that is sad to me because how much Star Trek meant to me growing up.
