This movie is dealing with Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash like we were already familiar with them, when we're not.

The movie isn't out yet. Everybody doesn't need a full two hour Solo movie to get you invested. I once watched a movie where a farm boy, a princess, a pirate, a wizard, a dog and two robots were all introduced and I was somehow able to follow it and enjoy it. I think it did pretty well, too.

 

In all of cinematic history, I only know of one time where everybody got their own movie before the team up--and even then, Hawkeye and Black Widow had their time to shine. DC doesn't have to copy them exactly. Justice League could still suck but it won't be because every character needed their own movie. 

I see what you did there. Another obvious one is a girl with her pup along with a lion, a scarecrow, and a...thing made of...tin (no clever way of describing him) trying to see a talking head.

While it would be nice to have solo movies for some of these DC characters prior to JL, I agree that this isn't entirely necessary and won't be the reason why the movie could potentially fail. Characters can stand out among a huge group of big names if they are appropriately directed, written, and acted well.
