Err... no.

Did Sony destroy their legacy with porting The Last of US to the PS4? Or Shadow of Colossus from the PS2 to the PS3 and now a remake on PS4? Or the various Kingdom Heart ports? Or did Sega when they ported some of their Master System titels to Genesis and really one could go on for every major publisher that has had more then one hardware device. The fact is porting to new hardware is a normal facet of software publishing.

In the end, time will tell if the strategy works, but so far they aren't doing too bad. Although personally, I do not believe Xenoblade Chronicles X needs to be ported, due to the nature of the game's story seemingly being incomplete anyway with no follow up planned or revealed as of yet.

PS2 and PS3 had massive libraries and tons of games weren't ported. Most Master System games weren't ported either. It's fine to port games, but a Nintendo system without an exclusive Zelda or an exclusive Mario Kart is garbage. And only companies with no business making games make bad consoles. They should have axed the Wii U right after launch but instead they lied to people promising actual support.

What do you mean by "actual support?"
