Both parties do that, and it has to be done. Otherwise you have members of one party voting in another party's caucus. They can vote for the weakest candidate effectively sabotaging the opposition's ticket. Iowa lets you register for one party or another so long as you also check for a portion of your taxes to go to said party. This let's people vote freely, and discourages troll voting from the opposition.
Oh and Hillary was the weakest Democratic candidate in years. Voted for the Iraq War. Voted for the Patriot Act. She was in favor of 100% illegal immigration amnesty (this would have erased borders and caused chaos). Anti-medical marijauna. Anti-gun rights. Pro-Keystone XL. Pro-Sopa/Pipa.

Doesn't change what it is, and it's voter registration. You can't say you're against something and then publicly do it.

True. They really should follow Iowa's example on that one. Let everybody caucus so long as they agree to a portion of their taxes going to the party.
