The OG X1 (including S) after almost 4 years in the market, has managed to lower the price to 250$. By the time the X1X reaches that pricepoint (2021 if it follows the OG footsteps) the Xbox One ecosystem will have +8 years in the market. I honestly dont think it will last that long.

X1 would have to maintain its current sales and have relevance longer than 360. That's possible if we get another X1 in about four years while the X1X keeps getting supported in a 9th gen. It depends on what MS does and if they stay the course with incremental upgrades.

You want me to name major 1st party games coming? I think the obvious answer is numerous sequels, those are major. They have a few games coming relatively soon and Phil claims some new stuff is being developed. But if you wanna pretend no notable 1st party software is happening...

Again, what if MS stays the course with incremental upgrades? Maybe the X1X will be $250 in 2021 while the X1S will no longer be manufactured. The X1X has the specs to be relevant in the 9th gen as a cheap option and playing the same games as an even more powerful Xbox One in 2021. I'm suggesting X1X for $249 and X1X-2 for $499. However, support for the OG X1/X1S is no longer REQUIRED at that point which would be fine after 8 years of support.
